portugual - bem gostoso!!!

oops - almost one month since my last post!! well one good excuse that accounts for at least 10 days of my absence was my trip to portugal for gonçalo and andreia´s wedding! on the way i spent a great 28 hours catching up with maria, dian, ingmar, hui jing, clyde, mazzy, nerida and laura and some of my fave food spots in amsterdam. i think the fact that we were asked by the waitress to stop laughing so loudly because we were "scaring away other customers" is a good sign of how much fun we were having :) and all the things i dont like about dutch "service" ;)

i arrived in porto, portual on sunday night where i met my friend, amy (friend of mine since 2 years old who is now living in london). unfortunately my luggage arrived on tuesday night, but luckily i had amy´s suitcase to also draw on! we had a great three days in porto, sampling the local wine, cheese, scenery, seafood and sunsets and then we headed down to lisbon on the train. there we met the rest of "the gang" (other international alumni and many of their partners) and headed off for a great day tour of surrounding areas of lisbon thanks to our amazing hosts, gonçalo and andreia. we also chilled out on friday before the wedding in the great area of belém.

saturday was the wedding!!! and it was wonderful...from the cute church to wonderful reception it was a great day. andreia became my new role model when she showed us the sneakers she was wearing under wedding dress!! it was so wonderful to catch up with so many old friends in such great surroundings as portugal, do "reach for the stars", show off my portuguese skills ;) and to see so many of my friends happy in great relationships. actually it was a wedding frenzy - with minni announcing her marriage, rohit proposing to carol and oliveira proposing to nicoline!!
