well this weekend has had an African flavour...on Friday morning at 5:30am I went with Tanja, Maria and Marcio to meet the new ABN AMRO co-ordinator, Reuben from Kenya, at the airport...finally here to start his new term...it seems that the Immigration officials heard what a great guy he is and they wanted to get to know him better...so they took an extra 1.5 hours to do so!

Then on Saturday night I went with another Kenyan friend, Emily, and our friend of a friend, to see a film from Benin, "Africa in the Picture" festival that's happening right now in Amsterdam...the summary is as follows: "A poor corn farmer in rural Benin, Boubacar, is tired of trying to make ends meet. He decides to increase his debts by purchasing a used Peugeot (Pejo) in hopes of becoming a bush taxi driver. But when the car breaks down, Boubacar has to come up with a creative plan to keep his family from starvation."...definitely not a film you'd see from Hollywood.
