june & july in a nutshell :) take II

Wow – you say to yourself that you’ll post one a month and before you know it 2.5 months go past!

So guess lots of stuff must have been happening…or nothing….or I’ve been procrastinating making an update by doing my split ends! so let me try to recap some of the highlights I recall…not necessarily in chronological order ;)…and then let the pictures tell some stories

- As you can see from the pics, in june I went to a great conflict management and resolution course for two weeks at uni of amsterdam – really interesting and inspiring, and in july i also went to Istanbul for four days for evrim and ekin’s wedding – and since then it seems like EVERYONE is getting married – szymon and asia, pita and anya, sieka and mary, dian and ingmar! Congrats to all of you crazy couples! :P
- Spent a fair bit of time afterwards working on my assignment for the conflict management course – since I will apply for credit towards my bachelor – essay on the cross-cultural aspect of conflict between Australia and Indonesia – was really surprised how long it took me – guess I am a bit out of practice since I didn’t write an essay for the last five years! But now I am enrolled in two subjects externally cross-institutionally through USQ – so guess I better get used to it!
- i decided to accept an offer to finish the last four months of my traineeship working with the new global head of diversity at ABN AMRO…my role on my current team needed to change anyway, so I decided to take the chance that the universe seemed to be offering me to experience working in a company in the area that I’m really passionate about – diversity! So let’s see how it goes…I’ll be starting in mid-september
- I’ve been living with my 21 year old brother, liam and his friend, ruairi, for the last few months…it’s taking some time for us to adjust ourselves to living with each other – it’s the first time we lived together for around five years and guess we’ve both changed and are at different points in our lives – but it’s also a great experience and opportunity to learn about each other and ourselves, and I am enjoying having family around
- Escaped reality a couple of nights and ventured to chick flick-dom, with the aid of dirty dancing, the notebook, how to lose a guy in 10 days and steel magnolias (and copious amounts of wine, chocolate and chips!)
- There’s been a distinct brazilian flavour to the last few months – thanks to my bunch of wonderful brazilian friends here, and caipirina and forro dancing – obrigada guigo for teaching me to close my eyes, let go and feel the rhythm
- we had the first and second ever ABN AMRO aiesec trainee gatherings - chance for all of us to get together and see how we can "make more possible" for ourselves, each other and the Bank

Now I think I’ll let some pictures tell some more stories...

x Zoe
