bonjourno from rome aeroporto!

due to my el cheapo ticketo i am now blessed with 5 hours of "reflection time" at rome airport on my way back to amsterdam, after early morning flight this morning from palermo, sicily

well thne last week hnas been quite a wonderful njourney...after a fast and furious queen's day weekend in amsterdam where my brother liam, nhis two mates, two of my friends and one boyfriend all spent the weekend withn Chnris and I ennjoying amsterdam at its party best...early on monday morning i flew to rome where i relived one of the best feelings someone can have - hugging your mum when she meets you at the airport!!

i came to the south of italy to spend time with my mum (celebrating her 50th bday bit early) and also 3 of her good friends from school/work (Bev, Kerri, Eileen). it was a wonderful 5 days of exploring the south coast of italy (from rome-> sorrento -> positano -> isle of capri -> almafi -> sicily), drinking vino, eating, shopping, chatting and laughing so hard i was regularly in tears!

anyone who knows me knows that i LOVE travelling and in fact that is where virtually all of my spare cash goes...into plane tickets! but one thing that my fellow companions, who maybe nhaven't travelled as much, re-taught me on this trip - was that pure joy of discovering things for the first time - like being an innocent child once again and living with wonder

this was so refreshing and invigorating and coupled with the wisdom and sense of FUN!!! that all these women also brought with them, was a fantastic travel bubble!
